Full professor of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and titular of the master’s degree course on waste treatment plants. He received his degree in Hydraulic Civil Engineering and his doctorate in Sanitary Engineering at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. His research activity, carried out in collaboration with other universities and national and international research centres, involves different fields of sanitary engineering, as documented by over 80 publications in proceedings of scientific conferences and national and international journals. His particular fields of competence regard the integrated management of waste, in particular selection, stabilization and waste to energy technologies; the environmental behaviour of waste treatment residues in view of their reuse or final disposal; quality management systems for the sanitary and environmental sector; water management and treatment technologies.

Main Research Topics

  • Management and optimization of solid waste treatment plants
  • Characterization and treatment of residues (e.g. BA and FA)
  • Characterization of biostabilized wastes
  • Environmental behavior of residues and wastes by leaching tests
  • Management optimization of wastewater treatment plants
